"Did France's Secrecy Cause a Nuclear Submarine Collision?"
This is an interesting example of NATO nonsense.
First, it's a very, very big ocean. There will not be a collision between nuclear submarines on any random basis. It is too big.
Second, those guys spend a lot of money to know exactly where each other is.
Third, the nature of this article, the Brits and NATO accusing France, would seem to indicate that the Brits were shadowing the French sub as an exercise, the French maneuvered unexpectedly and the Brits rammed them.
It may have been the other way around. But one of them absolutely did know the other was there and had closed to within an unsafe distance.
What this wasn't - a case of the French not notifying the Brits of the location of their sub.
