Our leaders are mostly chosen by those who let the bs go in one ear and out the other. They decided that the dems weren't getting the results they wanted so they elected the GOP for 8 years. By the end of 8 years they were sick of Bush and the GOP so they elect Obama. If Obama gets results he will last 8 years and they may elect another dem. If they don't see results they will bring back the other side and so it goes ad nauseum.

The THEY I refer to are the real electorate. Those who ignore the BS and the unflattering photos that took someone hours to pick from a frame by frame review. Those who judge everything by the last 6 months of their life and the 6:00PM news. Those who will always hate extended war casualties unless they are personally threatened.

The 10% of the population that call themselves paying attention are easily led by their bs of choice. While the true electorate swings, the 10% who think of themselves as open minded are usually immovable, trapped by their dogma and their mirror image self. They are revolutionaries at heart and are wasting their time agonizing over free elections.
