Man, you can't make this stuff up. I've read elsewhere about this concept, it is not unreasonable, but that don't necessarily mean it's true. Amateur astronomers should be particularly well equipped to spot these craft--they'll start reporting them soon enough if they exist.

Their reports will be detailed and coherent enough to unravel the mystery, since they know more about what they are seeing and how to describe it than the typical UFO witness. The man's comment in the article was spot on:

"A witness's perceptions of speed, acceleration, and size are likely of very little value,"

He referred, of course, to they typical, untrained, observer.
