robots are dumb. Suits are cool
Until somebody invents a positronic brain a robot is only going to be good as an avatar of somebody controlling it from safety. That's not bad to keep the trooper from getting shot up himself, but stick the trooper in the suit and you've got a force to be reckoned with.
