I really do believe they have come to believe that anyone who disagrees with themselves is so evil and so corrupt that any kind of tactic is acceptable as long as they win the argument.
Even when they KNOW they are wrong, dead wrong, they say to themselves,
"We have to do whatever it takes to cover this up because if the other side ever gets to use this against us, horrible things will happen to the world."
Or, perhaps to use an example;
"Oh, Oh. It's starting to look like they're right about AGW after all. We need to do whatever it takes to cover that up or no one will believe anything we say about anything any more."
For "AGW", you can substitute "Iraq", "Benghazi", "Birther", "Obamacare" or "Trump". As far as they are concerned, Libs are wrong because they are Libs, not the other way round.
