Comprehensive sanctions which ban most trade and services between the US and other nations cost our economy 12 billion yearly.....

Cuba...Cuba has struggled economically but the government has stayed in power.

Sudan...Sudans' government remains unchanged and has made little effort to stop the Darfur genocide. Still as a result of US sanctions, the country has lost investors from other countries, including Britain and Germany.

Myanmar...As Secretary of State Hillary Clinton recently conceded, the military government has not altered its' strong arm tactics. Clinton says the US is looking for other ways to influence Burmas' leaders.

Iran...Iran's capacity to export oil has been harmed, because it can not buy US technology. It is also thought that Iran's many plane crashes-hundreds of people have died in them-are due to its inability to buy parts from the US.
