Asteroids could be nudged away from a collision course with Earth by a small nuclear explosion or by using lasers to vaporize a region, creating a plume of gas that should provide enough thrust to push the asteroid off course, according to Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and University of Glasgow scientistsâ€¦.
