ISS urine recycler - not rocket science.

"Space Urine Recycler Test Delayed by Low Flow Glitch."

Urine is generally considered clean, and the major block to ingesting it is the salinity, which is 3 times that of human blood. Diluted it would do very well in a pinch except for the cultural inhibitions.

Frankly, I wouldn't want to drink the stuff unless it was distilled, purified, sanitized, boiled, chlorinated, oxygenated, filtered, irradiated and in a plastic bottle with a 5 cent deposit labelled "Pure Virgin Spring Water". And then flavored. Or unless I was really, really thirsty.

But to recycle it seems rather easy, really. Uncomplicated. Wonder why they make it complicated.
