Separate issue, I think.

There's a lot we don't know in that story. For instance, where was the pornography? Was she forced to encounter it during her normal duties, or did it take an extraordinary search? How pornographic was it?

Then, is someone who would be so upset at seeing pornographic literature that she couldn't fulfill her duties as a pilot fit to be a commercial pilot in the first place?

I happen to believe she should not have to be exposed to it. And that if exposed she be expected to realize it's not personal, there is a plane to fly, there are people on board and that she's a grown individual who may be a bit more mature than some of her co-workers.

And then, as a separate matter, should pilots be allowed to have pornography in the cockpit of an airplane? They are, after all, sort of like bus drivers only with auto-pilots. It's not a very demanding job most of the time, but may require all of one's attention in an instant. I suspect that any pilot who needs to be told to leave the pornography at home shouldn't be flying.

So, I'd assume that any pilot bringing porn into the cockpit had the intention of using it and would be terminated.
