Goldman Sachs plans to hand back $10 billion bailout

AND......It is expected that other major banks, including JPMorgan Chase which received $25bn, will be hoping to return the cash soon.

>"Goldman Sachs is in talks to hand back the $10 billion it received from the US government last year, and could be the first major bank to free itself from the strings attached to taxpayer money. The government cash comes with limits on executive pay and increasingly intense public scrutiny of its business practices. Wall Street bosses, watching the furore over bonuses paid to executives at the collapsed insurance firm AIG over the past week, are keener than ever to return public funds as soon as conditions allow."

Interesting, all of a sudden the public dole isn't appealing to them when they come under scrutiny from the public. Not to mention, that maybe they didn't need it in the first place and we're just jerking our chains? I also guess they feel like they're under the microscope and that photos of them and their families will end up on the web. Lord knows, it's that primal fear of the <stockade.>
