I was out of the house so missed it, but NASA events are one of the few things I turn TV news on for.
In my experience, all of the news stations are erratic with their coverage, sometimes providing extensive coverage, sometimes not. A lot depends on what other news is on. I've seen no noticable difference between the stations in this, and will pick whatever station seems to be providing the heaviest coverage.
When they do cover it, they do fairly well. When I can get a good link, I like NASA TV primarily because all the news stations feel obliged to chatter while things are going on (I've noticed no particular anti-NASA notes--most of the chatter just seems to be a violent allergy to a newscaster keeping his or her mouth shut). NASA TV is willing to keep quiet, and let us here the NASA transmissions, which are usually more informative.
