"The International Space Station, once a place where astronauts would share food and facilities, is said to be embroiled in a Cold War-like stand-off.
"A Russian cosmonaut has complained he is no longer allowed to use a US toilet as well as a US exercise bike.
"Gennady Padalka, 50, told Russia's Novaya Gazeta newspaper the lack of sharing was lowering the crew's morale.
"The veteran cosmonaut said the problem was due to the ISS becoming a more commercial operation. "
He'd probably pay quite a bit to use the can up there. Might be worth it to privatize the facilities, charge those folks on a per-use basis. After all, they're the ones who are using them. Charge them for bottled water, recycled urine would be a bit cheaper IF they used the pay toilet to supply the urine in the first place.
A splendid opportunity to teach those commies the advantages of capitalism. Until the Shuttle is retired and the Russians have a monopoly on flying up there. At that time, of course, they'll have to learn why monopolies are regulated.
In the meantime, Padalaka, we want to hear a "kerchunk" before the "kerplunk". Or whatever it sounds like in zero gravity.
