Erosion

In the fall, the trees and brush shed their leaves and needles (larch/cedar) and carpet the ground with a durable covering that protects the soil from the onslaught of the winter and spring rains. It is especially evident in areas with steep terrain like the Pacific Northwest. Without this natural blanket, topsoil would quickly erode as well the foothold established by the plants root systems. Makes me wonder how evolution managed this mechanical advantage.

Viagra

Maybe there is reason why old guys can’t get it up. Evolution probably didn’t count on us increasing our lifespan like we’ve have. Maybe we’re not supposed to pass along damaged DNA. Men used to died before they got old and like other creatures we were probably not allowed to mate by younger members of the tribe. But youth has now been trumped by money.

Can you use your toilet for a barometer?

I’ve noticed on occasion that sometimes the water level in the bowl is substantially lower on some days. My theory is it’s cause by a drop in barometric pressure. You house is somewhat sealed to the outside environment but your pluming/toilet is vented to the outside. The water in the bowl is between the indoor and outdoor environment If there was a drastic drop in the pressure outside your house, then the pressure inside would be greater until it equalized. Until the pressures become equal, the air will be pressing down harder on the water in the bowl than from the other side. That’s probably all unverified junk pseudo science but it will give me something to do next time I’m taking a leak in a thunderstorm.
