I think you're confusing the L-Points

The Earth-Sun L4/5 Points are poorly known and haven't been directly investigated before - and they're hard to see!

Of course the Earth-Moon L4/5 points have been explored via telescope and radio searches since the 1970s, if not before. Transient dust clouds have been observed and they're something of a mystery.
