My sister-in-law is a native of El Paso, and a Hispanic. My brother lived there for a few years, where he met her. It is an neat town. She doesn’t have much good to say about Juarez.

Last time I was in Juarez, it was a scary place. I did not let my guard down. I think it has gotten worse.

Elsewhere on the border, last time I was in Brownsville, Texas, I couldn’t tell much difference from it and its neighbor across the border, Matamoras, Mexico.

I wish Mexico would become more like America and Canada- A place where I would feel safe traveling. It has a really interesting culture and history. The average person is nice. The food is great. And there are some beautiful places. But I don’t feel safe there. It used to be the crooked law enforcement you had to worry about. Now it is the drug lords.
