Why does humanity not deserve a chance to live?
Nature has wiped out more life forms and caused more changes to
Earth than anything we have ever done. And this process will continue
whether we are here or not.
I once heard that humanity is Gaia's way of making sure another space
rock doesn't kill off most of the flora and fauna as they did during the
Permian and Cretaceous.
I recently watched a program where a group in Alaska devotes their
time and resources to rescuing baby seals that would otherwise have
died in the indifferent wild. That's the contradiction called humanity.
