Never mind certain free speech issues up there that would curl your hair.

This is it. There is no more "go West, young man." There aren't any more "golden shores."

"Progressives" who want to play the "I'm outta here" card have lots of options if the U.S. gets a government that's too free-market and conservative to suit them. There are loads of nice, cozy little countries where the State is both mother and father.

But where does someone go if the U.S. ends up going in that same direction?

Thirty years ago I saw this coming, and figured we needed a viable space civilization as a new frontier. It's one of the reasons I supported space colonies and private space endeavors.

Didn't happen.
