Re: The end of the "Trust Fund" myth

The entire cost of the Iraq War since the beginning would pay for Social Security alone for about one year.

The entire cost of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars combined, since the beginning of the war in Afghanistan ten years ago, would pay Social Security and Medicare for about one year. What's the excuse going to be for the second year?

Social Security taxes go the same place two-thirds of the entire Federal budget goes: raw wealth redistribution. In short, your Social Security payments are mostly going to pay someone else's Social Security and Medicare.

Just try hard to remember this the next time the Democrats scream about how Social Security and its "Trust Fund" need no reform and are doing just fine for many years to come.

Our budget is collapsing due to the demented idea that you can have a nation where everyone can live off the taxpayer.
