I think that if we could break down and record all electromagnetic emissions from those parasites, we would see that they impose specific frequencies of a related nature on the thought processes.
The function may be honed by distance and proximity. In other words the parasites in the cats react and broadcast to the parasites in the human when close enough.
Right now people wonder how monkeys that may learn a new trick in New Guinea, somehow teach that trick to monkeys in a New York zoo - or similar place completely isolated from contamination. The notion of "shared" genetic knowledge is not understood.
When a monkey learns a trick, and stores that process in its mind - that broadcasts a certain frequency. And that frequency is compatible with monkeys of the same species. Those monkey brains receive that data and so suddenly ALL those type of monkeys can do that trick all at once. We don't realize how ants & bees aren't the only broadcasting species. We all broadcast - even humans do.
These parasites, and probably many others too, manipulate their environment to their own advantage and probably by imposing and broadcasting environmentally engendered frequencies into their hosts.
The world is far stranger than we will probably ever fully know.

Fascinating isn't it?
