I worry about this attitude of Blow It Up. Maybe it will work for the small fry, but what
if blowing up a larger one just makes more pieces that spread over a wider area?

I hope I won't be subjected to a humiliating put down for not wanting to just nuke
something cause it seems like a really cool guy kinda thing to do. At the least it would
be nice to steer such an NEO into a path where we could use its resources and study
it in the future.

Plus what if an NEO turns out to be a giant interstellar space ark carrying beings from
another world who want to be our friends and share the knowledge of the Universe
with us, but then we go and attack them and they decide to show us what a species
with interstellar travel capabilities can do to a bunch of trigger happy talking monkeys
with car keys and a few nukes.
