On Apollo 12

Socrates II — 5/15/2009 2:01:54 PM (archived)

The backup crew for Apollo 12, which will also be celebrating its 40th
anniversary this November, put images of Playboy centerfolds on the
mission checklists attached to the spacesuit arms of Pete Conrad and
Alan Bean.

When Conrad opened his little booklet and saw the images, all he could
do in response was laugh because he did not dare say what he was
looking at.
