Space/Science » in reply to re: NASA's budget since 1958

Around the time of the first Space Shuttle launch in 1981

Someone in Time magazine noted that all of the money given to NASA
from 1958 to 1980 would have lasted four months with the US gov
department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

What will it take to get people to stop saying and thinking "Why don't
they spend that money for problems on Earth?" whenever a space
mission is prominently displayed in the news.
