These things are always made to sound far more dire than they are. Although moderate Republicans have been abandoned by their more Conservative fellows.
This is a natural consequence of their good versus evil, black-and-white, no compromise, no negotiation, my-way-or-the-highway approach to the world.
And that's too bad, because some truly nice people are attracted by the rigidity and security theoretically offered and don't know the true agenda of which they are pawns.
