I think he estimated CO2 warming at about 1/2 degree. More will be needed to offset the global cooling due to lower solar activity.
But aside from that, the US and China and India and the rest of the world needs to get serious about energy, including in particular oil use. It was a rise in oil prices that collapsed the real estate bubble, leading to the current recession.
In any case, the atmosphere is not an inexhaustible dump.
