To preempt one argument, she does NOT have a high reversal rate

I see several conservative news sources charging with with having a "high rate" of being reversed by the Supreme Court.

Well, let's see.

Sotomayor apparently has a 60% reversal rate for opinions she authored that were later reviewed by the Supreme Court. She's wrong 60% of the time!!

Well, not so much.

It turns out that the AVERAGE reversal rate for Appeals Court judges is 75%. Moreover, for only 5 of her 380 opinions to have been granted cert at SCOTUS is also below average. I.e., the Supreme Court seems to think she is right more often than the average appelate judge, if you want to look at it that way.

There is also the issue that the Supreme Court doesn't always reverse due to mistakes by the appeals judges. The appeals court might well have ruled consistently with the law on the books, but SCOTUS might have found a flaw in the law Congress wrote and overturned the underlying law rather than saying the appeals court got the law wrong.
