"LOST" Air France Airbus from Rio to PARIS

Said to have encountered severe turbulence and lighning up to 50.000 ft, no way to track it Mid Atlantic but an automated report was sent saying cabin depressurized and electrical system malfuntioned, are'nt these planes tracked by satt over the oceans ?
