Still, we can't just all blame The Donald, as will almost certainly happen if something truly catastrophic happens. The desolation you describe is not all on him, he is being aided and abetted by an entire political philosophy, an ideology, whose partisans, even if they don't agree with him, will support him to the end because they expect to profit from his policies.
Trumpism is now supported publicly by individuals and factions which may despise him privately because they are afraid to admit how mistaken they were. They do so because they are still hoping they will prosper mightily under his regime. That prosperity may come at the expense of the rest of the nation, perhaps even the world. But they just don't care.
And when the inevitable Gotterdammerung arrives, they will say they never supported him in the first place.
