The point was that "right wing" crimes seem to be the only ones that are projected as representing a core problem with a much larger group of people. For example, if anybody ever discusses bin Laden or the countless other radical Islamic terrorists as in any way symptomatic of Islam in general, liberal heads explode all over the place.
Your first sentence (stereotypically) tells me what the point is (and also stereotypically gets it wrong). The point was that the right wing media eggs on right wing terrorists (go back and check the first post if you don't believe me).
Perhaps you want me to entertain a point you want to make that... well, you said it: "'right wing' crimes seem to be the only ones that are projected as representing a core problem with a much larger group of people." I'm sorry, can you say this more simply? I think you are saying that for instance, I would never bitch about Saddam's depredations. Nor Ahmadin... (don't make me look up how to spell this turkey's name), nor Osama (Jeez Tom, the old HZ was full of wails and moans about OBL - do you really not recall? And you haven't heard anyone complain that Bush did not catch him?). Etc.
I will readily agree that you don't hear about them in a conversation like this till a winger tries to make a feeble moral equivalency argument.
Your second sentence seems to imply that what I said was an attempt to prove that wingers in general are likely to commit crime. (Or do I misinterpret? Please set me straight, if so.) I would like to go on record here and now saying that I think that people to the right of center are no more likely to commit a crime than those on the left. And further that anyone who would say such a thing is either despicable or is too blindly partisan. It is just about as disgusting as generalizing from one terrorist to all followers of Islam. Sick, either way Tom. Is this my head exploding?
You want to play this silly "six degrees" game... I think I don't. Should we? You think this Ayers thing is anything? That the President is a foreign terrorist? Good grief.
What Republican or prominent conservative representative even knew who the hell these recent criminals were before they committed their crimes? I'd be stunned to find any such connection and I would not look for one. So what?
