BOULDER, Colo. — Astronomers at the University of Colorado have, for the first time, found definitive evidence of an ancient lake on the surface of Mars.
Scientists have found gullies, canyons, channels and deltas on the surface of the planet, all of which hint at a watery past when rivers may have cut through the red dirt on Mars. But until now, no shorelines had been found.
