Science needs both types
The ones who demystify the science so that the public doesn't scratch
its head and end up not supporting the various projects (at least not
more than they already do) and the ones who are better suited for just
doing the work.
Some day perhaps education will be good enough so that everyone who
is naturally inclined as a child to be curious about the world will not lose
that gift by the time they reach adulthood. Science is still treated as
the realm of the adult geek or the precocious child and not as part of
the natural workings of the everyday.
