That wasn't about overthrowing an election. The US government's integrity wasn't at stake.

I am suggesting that the US government would use whatever force necessary to put down demonstrations aimed at overthrowing it. Just like every other government. Just like Iran.

I chose 2004 instead of 2000 because Clinton was President then in 2000. I do think that Cheney and Bush would have been much more ruthless than any other American administration, far more willing to use deadly force against more people.

And the majority of the American people probably would have agreed with the use of force in that case. Most of them the same people who condemn the government of Iran.
