While I agree, you're correct.
It's sort of a trick question. Most of the time the intent of question applies to 'higher' life forms. (Not the first time I've seen this question, won't be the last. Always has the same debate. Bacteria, viruses and such is the right answer. Many of which are introduced to the host through some sort of parasite.)
