re: No (thick slabs of surface) ice on the Moon

This shows that there are no thick deposits of pure water ice sitting on the lunar surface, which is a dissapointment in some ways, but not a big surprise. Ice mixed into the regolith as grains, coating the surface of regolith grains or even larger pieces buried are still plausable, even expected. Any of these would be an exciting and scientifically interesting find, although probably not such a boon for moonbase builders as big slabs on the surface!
