To see if I understand.
A man preaches against adultery, for instance. Publically condemns the practice and various practioners.
Then, even while condemning others for this practice, he is busily practicing an adulterous lifestyle. Screwing his brains out with people not his wife.
Only after he is found out does he beg forgiveness from his Maker, wife, children and constituents.
He is then absolved of the "sin", forgiven, and the hypocrisy is forgotten.
Another man commits adultery. He is found out.
He begs forgiveness from his wife, kids, constituents.
He is not forgiven, remains guilty.
And in the ranking of things, the man who is unforgiven for adultery is inferior to the man who was forgiven of the sin but remains a hypocrite.
I doubt that's what you meant, I'm not able to read it another way.
