Space/Science » in reply to NASA's needs

Jobs, yes. I read that Project Apollo hired over 400,000 men and women.

400,000 men and women working for NASA in the 60's.
They had spouses, and children,
Let's see!
So an average 1960's American household of adults
and children numbered about five or six.
That's over 2 million people that directly relied on a NASA paycheck.

And how many employees of department stores, hardware stores,
service stations, supermarkets, dentists, doctors, real estate agents,
schools, mechanics, plumbers, TV repairmen, etc. relied on a portion of those 400,000 plus NASA paychecks?
Are we talkin' about 10 million? 20 million working Americans in the 1960's?

And the jobs those 400,000 NASA employees performed in the 1960's
was testified by them to be very satisfying , that according to nearly all those employees.
They loved their jobs.
That makes Project Apollo worthwhile on those economic
statistics and grounds alone.
