I give a lot of weight to how an argument is framed when I judge its merit. You lost me with with a trivialization and a misrepresentation that set up a false equivalency. That was a lot to pack in to one short paragraph.
Trump's current 60% disapproval rating is a lot more than mere irrational hatred from some fringe left. Widespread criticism that's heartfelt isn't "hatred". Trivialization and misrepresentation invalidate your argument.
I guess for comparison you're referring to that time (eight years) the right lost its mind because a Black guy was President? You mean the time of birtherism? The time of a sharp rise in rightwing militia activity? That period when more Americans died at the hands of rightwing domestic terrorists than the scary Muslim kind? Those times when the Bundy family and friends committed armed insurrection and got a slap on the hand? When the right's idea of humor was photoshopping the Obamas to look like apes? That time?
That's quite a false equivalency. Criticizing Trump for pathological narcissism and profound incompetence that's doing material and demonstrable damage to America is not exactly the same as the eight years of hateful lunacy this country has had to endure.
I won't stop criticizing your President just because you keep trying to shut down legitimate criticism by calling it "hate".
