More False Framing

Undemocratic incompetant governments do not equate to big democratic government. Don't get me wrong, I firmly believe that government can get too big, that regulations can be too restrictive, and that private enterprise is critical to the health and well being of our country. What I do not accept is that private enterprise should be free from answering to the American public through the democratic process or that regulations only harm rather than protect the public. The simplistic Republic mantra of reduce government and leave it to the free market was a massive failure leading to the great depression and the great recession. I'm actually all for reducing the government, but with the precision of a scalpel not a chain saw and not with a refusal to add new programs that are clearly needed. I'm extremely happy that we quit subsidizing poverty and am sure there are many other obsolete and/or poorly thought out government programs. The FDA, FEMA, SEC and Fed are not among them. Recent incompetence in these organizations has more to do with Republicans attitude toward these agencies as being hindrances rather than helps and staffing them with incompetants or those that will look the other way rather than people who know how to do the job.

And TOM and SDAI when you talk about government corruption, who exactly do you think is doing the bribing? It's the same people you want to hand the keys of the kingdom to with no oversight.

Mark
