Dealing with North Korea
I agree that it's much wiser to deal with the unstable NK leadership on a low-key but direct manner, and just ignore their occasional more childish outbursts, and wait until this pathetic regime finally collapses, then move quickly in concert with the South Koreans and the Chinese to pick up the pieces.
Perhaps the most interesting development in recent years is how the Chinese have become completely disillusioned with their former NK allies. The state run media in China now runs articles/letters that are critical of the North Korean gov't, and openly question why these losers still deserve any assistance or support from China.
