James Madison.

President in 1809.

Washington, Adams, Jefferson, Madison, Monroe, John Quincy (Adams), Jackson. My favorite of those was Andy Jackson.

I haven't read a biography for several years. I used to devour them. Andrew Jackson was such a colorful figure.

Probably my all-time favorite biography was one I read on Stonewall Jackson. Had he lived, there is a possibility that the South might have been successful in seceding and we'd now be two Nations instead of one. Stonewall did the impossible and turned the tide for victory by pushing his men almost beyond endurance. They would have followed him to hell and back. And did. But he died of pneumonia in May, 1863 and the North had the chance then to gear up to its full potential.
