They Better Get Some Partial G Data Out Of It

Instead of just using documentation of 0 g bone loss as an excuse to twiddle thimbs for a few more decades. After listenting to NASA at the Mars Society Convention I'm this close to giving up on their human space program. It is obvious that while they can ignore obvious risks under their noses due to familiarity they are terrified of tackling any new risk. If that attitude doesn't change manned space flight through NASA is a waste of money that could be better spent on a more robust robotic program. I believe NASA should blaze the trail for human exploration of space, but if they won't do it in a cost effective manner then they should stick with what they are doing well - robots. Hundreds of billions of dollars to only incrementally advance beyond giant leaps made for far less is utterly ridiculous. It's a big enough waste to turn me against government funded human exploration eventhough I firmly believe humans are far better than robots. I'm also against government waste and don't believe in making exceptions for pet projects because that's a big part of what has gotten us into this deficoit mess.

Mark
