The government will lay out a public option, along with regulations making it impossible for the private sector to exist. They actually list the crushing regulations on the White House web site, and brag about it being "consumer protection."
Imagine telling fire insurance companies that they had to sell policies to people whose houses were already on fire, and then pay off on them. How much do you think fire insurance would cost in a couple of years?
The "choice" we will be given will be the government public option, subsidized by taxpayers, or a monstrously expensive private policy, issued by companies that are forced to provide their company records and data to the government. Which is no choice at all, and despite the smooth talk about "competition" and "choice" is exactly what Obama wants to see happen.
