Again, I strongly suggest we compare contemporary American events with Germany between the World Wars. Most Germans did not agree with the Nazi program, and felt Hitler was, at best a ridiculous buffoon but they made his seizure of power possible by allowing him to get away with it.
I realize some of you reading this may be offended by my insistence on comparing our recent history to the rise of the Third Reich. Well, that is precisely the effect I wish to have, you really need to be offended--and hopefully, insulted. It won't be just the bigots, racists and fascists who will bear the responsibility for Trumpism. Those who choose to remain silent, make excuses and look the other way are equally guilty for what will happen. And even those who resist heroically will still have to face the full consequences if Trump and his allies succeed.
Like Germany, we too are a democracy; America will get the government it deserves.
