The man's an ignoramus, a liar, a thug, a bully and an asshole. He's not that way because he's a Republican. He would be all that even if he was a Democrat. And there's a lot of Republicans (most of them, in fact) that are NOT unfit for office, even if Democrats like me find their politics mistaken, or even dangerous.

The fact that this man is unfit for office is not proof that his party or his political philosophy is not fit to be in power. But those in his party that insist on making excuses and covering for him is what disqualifies THEM from being fit for public office.

What Republicans want for the country is not what Democrats want. Republicans believe taxes, particularly for the rich and for corporations, should be cut back; entitlements and welfare should be cut back; health, safety, consumer, labor and environmental regulation on business should be cut back. And they differ from Democrats on many other issues as well. But these are judgement calls. These issues are debatable, compromise is possible because people not on the extreme can find some middle ground. It is wholesome that there is disagreement and debate on these issues. That is what democracy is all about.

But when you start supporting these issues so extremely that you are willing to put up with a Donald Trump to promote them; when your tax cut, or gutting EPA, or discrediting global warming means so much to you that you feel compelled to support this man no matter what he does, that is just wrong. And that is what is wrong with the Republican Party and the Conservative movement. Its not that they are devils, its that they have sold their souls to the devil.

For Chrissake,Rob, this guy used Birtherism to get into the White House. He made it all up because he knew a lot of people would believe it. It doesn't even matter whether or not he believed it, he was willing to use it to get elected. THAT alone makes him unfit for office.

No, we will not put it to rest.
