Gore never claimed to have "invented" the Internet. He rightfully claimed to have written the legislation that opened ARPANet up for public use, thereby creating our modern Internet, and along the way, creating trillions of dollars of value. Not bad for a Liberal hellbent on destroying capitalism.
At the same time, he coined the term "information superhighway".
I wonder why nobody (that I know of) has written an alternate history in which Gore won the 2000 election?
