There has been violence and looting, tear gas, property vandalized and arrests, although police officials interviewed concede most protesters have been peaceful and law-abiding. My impression is that the police are showing restraint and acting in a professional manner. But at 2200 the curfew goes into effect, and they will have the right to arrest people, no questions asked. I suspect there will be a period of grace, and if the crowds do not clear, mass arrests will start. If there is violence, that is when it will break out.
However, interviewed officials are continuing throwing around that bullshit about "outside agitators". I cringe everytime I hear that, its real Bull Connor stuff.
