Re: S&P downgrades the US's credit rating...due to the SIZE of the debt.

Having a reading deficiency problem? I posted what THEY wrote. It was the POLITICS of the debt ceiling that pushed this over the edge. The S&P knows full well we can easily pay our debt, the problem is assholes who use paying our bills as a bargaining chip.

"The political brinksmanship of recent months highlights what we see as America’s governance and policymaking becoming less stable, less effective, and less predictable than what we previously believed. The statutory debt ceiling and the threat of default have become political bargaining chips in the debate over fiscal policy. "

The debt ceiling was about paying for things Congress had ALREADY VOTED FOR, not for new spending. People like you are deadbeats who are refusing to pay bills for things we have already bought. Here's how you keep your good credit: Pay all you fucking bills, then figure out how to stop spending so much.

And you skipped right over the part about revenues, which the S&P mentioned twice in their reasoning for the downgrade. Even Paul Ryan backtracked on the "no new revenues" pledge this weekend after the credit downgrade.

The GOP owns this bullshit. It is their fault because of their childishness in refusing to compromise when offered a deal that gave them 90% of what they wanted, and because of their utter lack of honor when it comes to paying our bills as a nation.
