The deficiency problem is planted firmly on your side of the isle. S&P made it clear in no uncertain terms that a credible debt reduction plan, with at least $4 Trillion in cuts, had to be passed for the US government to keep its AAA+ rating. The plan that was passed fell far short of that with only $2 Trillion in cuts. When a creditor tells you to do something, but you only do half of it, then who's fault is it?
The left is beginning to look rather pathetic in their attempts to spin this off on anyone other than themselves. They're even starting to go after S&P for this failure of leadership on their side.
