Midnight Update:

Things are pretty much evenly matched on all levels - the presidential race and Congress. For every amount of ground one side gains, the other matches suit.

I'm reminded of Verdun, looking at this. Two foes, locked in tense stalemate, hoping to recover that small stretch of land that'll make the battle...
