Coronal Mass Ejections . . .

We get hit with them all the time.

The larger CMEs recorded have effected Space Weather and GPS Systems, Electric Power Transmission (unhardened / vulnerable power grids), HF Radio Communications and Satellite Communications -- anything from a basic phone call to the transmission of a Super Bowl game.

Except for a power outage or loss of Game Night, it should be quite survivable...

The excitement for a large CME event is mostly from watchers anticipating a northern or southern aurora event.
