Volcano Porn

Exciting times for volcanologists, even the casual ones. Iceland's fissure eruption now has six different splatter cones; and, on the more felsic side, La Soufriѐre continues to spew ash.

Here are some views of both. (Sorry / not sorry about the image size.)

First, from storm chaser, drone pilot, and most excellent photographer, Brian Emfinger (@brianemfinger), two stunning photos from Iceland, humans for scale:

And here is a shot from a satellite of La Soufriѐre . It's a private satellite providing radar imaging. https://www.capellaspace.com/Since it is radar, it can cut through volcanic ash and look right down the throat of a volcano. Stunning! A few days ago there was a volcanic dome here - actually two domes - and now it is a deep hole spewing frothy lava into the atmosphere.
